Tips from the Service Department: Winter Motorcycle Storage

1. Locate a climate controlled, clean, dry and secure storage area. Keep away form snow shovels, snow blowers, lawn mower, bicycles, etc.
   
2. Fill the fuel tank and add a gasoline stabilizer.
   
3. Warm your motorcycle to operating temperature and change the motor oil and filter.
   
4. Check and adjust tire pressure.
   
5. Wash motorcycle and dry completely.
   
6. Hook up a battery tender. Do not use a standard battery charger, or trickle charger! Periodically check electrolyte level and battery condition.
   
7. Resist temptation to start your bike during the winter. This leads to fouled plugs, dead batteries, contaminated oil and rusted exhaust.
